Two-factor authentication (2FA)
What is Two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication is a type of multi-factor authentication that strengthens the security of your account, by requiring two methods of authentication to verify your identity.
2FA protects your account by combining something you know - your password - with something you have - a code generated by an app on your phone - every time you log in somewhere new.
Turning on 2FA
You can activate 2FA on your Billsby account by navigating to your company menu and selecting 'Two-factor auth'
This will bring up a modal where you are able to activate 2FA via the Google Authenticator app.
Once 2FA is enabled, you will need to enter the six-digit code from the Google Authenticator app to continue your account every time you log in. If you do not have the Authenticator app with you, you can opt for a code six-digit code to be sent to your phone number.
Turning off 2FA
To turn off 2FA, navigate back to the 'Two-factor auth' menu and enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app or phone code, and enter your Billsby account password.
Then click the 'Turn off two-factor authentication button.'
FAQs
What happens if I can't access my account, and have 2FA enabled?
After activating 2FA, our support team will require a government-issued photo ID and a 24 hour hold period to give you access to your account if you don't have access to either an app or phone code, to turn off 2FA.
